There are hundred of routes and paths for all types of cyclists in the city and in the province as a whole.  You can choose to travel in the mountains or in valleys, through the hills or on the road.  We can tell you where the best routes are so that you can experience the unique nature surrounding Cuenca.

There are quad routes in the mountains, the valleys or in the countryside.  A driving license is required.  A professional guide accompanies students at every moment.  Insurance, transportation and special equipment are included in the price.

Many companies offer paintball, and so you can choose to play in many different areas in the countryside surrounding Cuenca.  Prices vary according to the number of paintballs desired. 

In summer, you can swim in the rivers, ponds, lakes and reservoirs located throughout the province (see excursions), but you will also have the opportunity to swim in the 3 indoor or various outdoor pools located throughout the city.

It is possible to go horseback riding at the equestrian sports club in Cuenca or in the countryside.  Many companies offer longer routes through the mountains surrounding Cuenca by way of streams, hills and valleys. Just like for cycling, there are innumerable routes to hike, run or simply walk along.  There are routes that start off directly in the city, and more throughout the region, with varying levels of difficulty.

Senderismo en Cuenca

Canyoning in the River Júcar, traveling downstream through the canyons and waterfalls, is an unfor-gettable experience for everyone.  Students are picked up in Cuenca and transported to "Villalba", or the Júcar Canon.  A professional guide accompanies students at every moment.  Insurance, transportation and special equipment are included in the price.

Cuenca is one of the Spanish provinces in which the most caves can be found.  The region was formed by limestone, which erodes in water and, above all, in abrupt temperature changes.  Some of the caves in the area are up to 5km long.

The small airfield in Cuenca and some other areas offer the opportunity to fly an ultralight aircraft. 

Climbers from all over the world recognize Cuenca as a celebrated climbing spot; it is considered to be one of the top 20 places to climb internationally.  There are countless cliffs facing the city and both canyons.  Climbing routes have been marked off, and local climbers can give you more information.

In Cuenca, there are many football fields and sports facilities, the majority of which are free to use.  Many of our Spanish students are members of sports clubs or associations and they can help you find a place to play.  For other sports such as tennis or golf, it is possible to rent a court or get out on a course for a reasonable price.
