This is a way to get to know subterranean Cuenca. The Conquenses, in an effort to make more space, excavated a large portion of the rock under the city, converting it into a Gruyere cheese. The tunnels are also anti-air shelters and serve as underground connections between buildings. The tunnel tour is also a chance to learn a lot about the city's history and about Cuenca's aqueduct.
